Mama, I break my bed

I used a large pair of scissors to open a box and I guess Rocco was paying attention. He must have grabbed them and ran off. I didn't notice until I heard Madison scream and looked up to see him holding the scissors. I ran over to grab them and assumed Madison just fell off his bed, which she does often. A little bit later, Rocco came up to me and said "mama, I break my bed". I went to see what he meant. I discovered that he cut his pillow case open and his sheets, lol. I laughed a lot at this point. Then, I noticed Madison had a little stab mark on her arm. He sat in the chair for that one. He's been saying "mama, I break my bed" for days now. It's still so cute. He's sleeping on a pink sheet now. :)

I put the girls in phoebe's bed so they could watch the wiggles while I cleaned up. That sat so close together the whole time. And, then Rocco had to get in with them. That's always fun.

I have the nicest neighbor in the world. She's helped me with the kids a few times and always stops by to bring Rocco a cookie or another treat. Rocco runs outside and runs straight to her door. Well, Heather knew I've been home alone all week since Sam is in California, so she called me saturday to see if I wanted to walk over to the Greek food festival with them. What surprised me was that she already spent the morning there and went back specifically to take us. We got there and she and her two friends sat with the girls while I got to play on the playground with Rocco. Then, we got some fries and baklava. Rocco loved the fries, like an insane amount. And, he danced to the greek music. He really loves music and dancing.

Here's how I find Phoebe sleeping most mornings. She always ends up in this position somehow. I can't imagine how stiff I would be in the morning. I guess it's great being a baby.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween. The first pictures are from a couple weeks ago when we went to a community party. The girls wore tutus and had cat faces. I didn't have their ears yet.

Rocco had his hair painted purple and was so happy to be a ghost.

Here's Rocco's first stop on Halloween. He did great! He knew exactly what to do and started saying "Halloween" to people, lol.

Our next stop was the fire station. Rocco loved it. He was a little scared of the trucks because they were testing the lights and ladders. And, when we were done, the car battery died. At least we were at the right place. They helped me and we were on our way.

I love their ears! Phoebe was a little tired, but she never cried. Madison was squealing at everyone. They both had a great time.

Rocco loved the lights a little too much. He was more interested in playing with all the lights than he was getting candy. It was hard getting him to leave the yards that had lights.

Rocco ate way too much candy. He doesn't wait for me to open candy anymore. He just eats through the wrapper. Awesome!

Rocco had so much fun. He ran up and down the street screaming. He said hi to everyone. I can't wait until next year!

Cupcakes & waking up

Rocco always asks me to put one of the girls in his bed with him. I had Phoebe with me, so she got to lay down with him. He rubs his fingers when he lays down, so this time, he start rubbing her fingers. So adorable. :) After a minute or two, he kicked her out, lol.

I brought all three kids in to wake Dada up yesterday morning at 7:30. :) For some reason, they all went straight to him and start playing on him. So, I grabbed the camera. We did this for about 10 minutes, until Rocco pulled him out of bed to line up his cars.

I decided to take the car over to have EMS check the carseats (they were doing a check in a field next to where we live), and we picked up Dada to go with us so he could take a break from studying and see Rocco. Of course, Dada had to sit with Rocco and found cones for them. They were yelling directions to me the whole ride. Later that day, Sam asked me who is the loudest person in the household and of course, he beats Rocco by a landslide.

Back to carseat testing: Good thing we went there, because Rocco's top latch was broken and I don't think I would have discovered that for a long time. Everything else was perfect.

I asked Rocco if he wanted a cupcake and he start screaming cupcake in the store. He was so excited.
He got a chocolate iced one and took a bite of the icing.
Then he picked up mine and tried it.
Then he fed Phoebe some of mine. She was very happy about that.

And, he's feeding Phoebe again. I guess you can see the theme here. He really likes to feed everyone.
It was Madison's turn. He fed her a little more than she could handle, so most of it fell out of her mouth.

And, he's still feeding them. If you notice, all the cupcakes are smashed up and not really being eaten. Rocco didn't really like them, but he loved feeding everyone.

The girls are starting to get more and more mobile and it happens really fast. Madison has been pulling herself up on her knees for a couple weeks now and Phoebe pulled herself up to standing today! I put her in her crib so I could take a shower, but she start crying pretty hard and I went back in. I found her standing in her crib, which isn't low enough, so I will be dropping it asap. Here's a picture of her standing with tears. :(

9 month update & other pics

It always takes me forever to update their baby books, so I'm going to do what everyone else does and write it here, so that I don't forget it. :)

The girls had their 9 month appointment last week and they are both doing great.

Phoebe - 17 lbs 3 oz (25%), 27" (25%), and 43 cm (25%)

Madison - 17 lbs 12 oz (25%), 27" (25%) and 44 cm (50%)

I'm not sure if the percents are very accurate. They told me that they were between 25-50 on everything. I was just happy they are on the charts now and that they didn't need any shots.

Here we are after going to the lake (more like the town pond) to play with ducks. It's such an odd town because we are so compact here. We had wealthy looking people jogging around us, homeless people talking to us and following us, gangster looking people hanging around the side, and us with a few other normal looking families. At least, I think we're normal. Who knows?

The picture above is Phoebe this morning. She was just having a morning where she wanted to be held. She was so calm and sweet. She looks sad, but I'm not sure why. So, I made her happy by just holding her. Something I should probably find time to do more often. :(

Rocco has a cold, so he's eating chicken and stars and Madison has to hover in case he drops anything that she can eat. Yeah, that's how much she likes food.

Rocco loves eating seaweed with me. Even the wasabi flavored one. It sometimes makes me cringe in pain, but he pulls through and eats the whole thing. He will try anything.

I noticed a few weeks ago that he was repeating letters that he would hear, so I decided to try to teach him all of his letters. I was amazed that he knew them really well after about 1 week. I guess he was ready, lol. This video is kind of long, but it's more for me than anything else. I want to remember everything they do. :) FYI: He's still not wearing pants, so I tried to keep the camera off of him. :)

Every time it rains, Rocco has to play outside with dada. Dada sure is a good sport about it. I find that too miserable to do. They stayed out for at least 30 minutes and their clothes were dripping with water. They even played in the sprinklers. I probably dumped a cup of water out of each boot, lol.

They both start crawling last week and then a couple days after that, Madison start pulling herself up. But, because she can't balance when sitting up yet, she often falls completely backwards and does not like that at all.

Yeah, she's really holding the push-up position. This is fun for her? She does these moves all the time. Why can't they sit up well yet?!

This video is Phoebe getting ready to crawl. Although, she's been doing this for a couple weeks now. I'm really ready for her to fully crawl. Madison is right there with her. Some days, I think Madison will crawl first.

Potty Training Update & playing together

I set Phoebe's bottle down on the couch and she was on the floor. I came back a second later and she managed to knock the bottle over and start drinking like a hamster. It was so funny.

I love seeing them when they first wake up. They are either playing or just laying there relaxing and then smile so big when they see me. This is Madison below.
Rocco is doing great with potty training. We almost never have pee accidents on the floor anymore and rarely have #2 accidents. Although, today he got up and ran away before he was finished and we all stepped in it because it fell on a brown rug. Awesome. We are at 3 weeks tomorrow. I tried the so called 3 day method, but those people are crazy. I would say he had full control and recognition of his actions at just under 2 weeks. That's when I caught him running to the potty on his own. They say it works best under 28 months and we started it at 25 months. He didn't get any treats or toys during the first two weeks. I started to give him 2 m&m's when he goes now, but he doesn't really seem to care, so he gets them occasionally. He's just so happy when he goes and sees me get excited and says "mama proud". So sweet.

There are still problems with training so young that they didn't mention. Like the fact that he can only hold it for 5 minutes. So, if we are in the car he will pee in his seat. I can't explain to him that he needs to hold it for 10-15 minutes until we get home, but he can hold it now and I can see that, but only for 5 minutes and he will tell me uh oh, pee pee when he has to go. I know then that I have 5 minutes. Also, he can't really pull his underwear and pants down very well, so that's a problem. Funny story: the first time I let him wear underwear, he ran to the potty when he had to pee and sat down and peed through his underwear, lol. I never got a chance to teach him he needed to pull them down.

So, he's been running around naked from the waist down for 3 weeks now and pees about 20 times a day. They say to do this for about 3-4 months. I'm just going to do it for as long as it takes. I don't see how we could go out in public without a diaper. It just wouldn't work. I think this would have been easier if I waited another month or two, but I feel like this would be wasted if I quit now. Because he is potty trained when we are at home and he is naked. And, he loves doing it. But, this was not fun and was stressful and so messy. Definitely need to clean the carpets.

He is totally a boy. Look at what he already does while on the potty.
The girls love being with Rocco. They love it when he plays with them. I'm just lucky that he loves to play with them. He is always saying "mimi billy (play) beep-beeps. He will try to grab them from me and take them to where his toys are. He even gives them his beep-beeps - for a little while, lol.

Phoebe does not like her vegetables. She only likes fruit. This is not a picture of her crying. That's the face she makes with almost every bite of vegetables and now sweet potatoes. Saying she dislikes them is an understatement. If she knew how to through a tantrum, it would be for making her eat vegetables. She will cry and keep her mouth closed. She even notices when I mix them something else.
Rocco made me take many pictures of his truck. I saw him kissing this truck yesterday about 10 times in a row, lol. I guess he loves his truck.
Rocco was trying to read to Phoebe, but she just wanted to eat the book and then she start chewing on his shirt. He was very sweet about it though. He just kept pushing her off of him and would laugh and say no, mimi.

Eating has become serious for these kids

Don't mess with Madison's food. She reaches for everything we eat and screams if we walk by her with food and don't feed it to her. And, she can never get enough. Rocco was feeding her gerber cheese puffs for 30 minutes, lol.

Phoebe is a little different. She doesn't really care about eating. She eats her babyfood, but plays with her snacks. She gags through the first half of the jar of all of her vegetables, but she'll eat them.
And, Rocco is a great helper. He grabs the spoons and feeds them (sometimes gagging them). Then he occasionally spills food on the wall and floor. He climbs behind them and kisses their heads and gives them their sippy cups. He's such a good boy.
Rocco still loves wrestling with them and blowing on their tummies.
Rocco took all of Madison's pretzels. It was so funny watching him steal her food. But, then he realized that she didn't have any and gave her two back. :)
I'm pretty sure that Madison gets the happiest to see me. Phoebe will wiggle as hard as she can to get to dada. Rocco is still obsessed with dada. But, Madison seems to stick by me!! I'm sure this will change, lol. Although, I still get the best hugs from them all when they don't feel well or get boo-boo's. Phoebe is probably the best hugger/snuggler. You have to peel her off of you to put her down. She grabs on so tight that it hurts.
Put out a bunch of baby toys and this is what she picks. At one point, it was over her head.

Happy mornings!

The girls are so happy when they wake up. (Rocco is also) :) I usually let them play in their beds for about 30 minutes, so I can get up the energy to get out of bed. I'm so happy that they love to play in their beds. I had my camera with me this morning, so here's what I wake up to. Phoebe all tangled in her blanket and so happy to see me. And, I found that her second tooth has come in! It's a little bit lower than her first one. I guess this one didn't bother her.

Madison is usually at the foot of her bed playing with all of her toys. I frequently have to wake up between 3-5 a.m. to move her back to the other side of her bed because she wakes up and goes down there to play. Her laughing wakes everyone up. I don't know how I was lucky enough to get three babies who never wake up crying. They are all so happy to be alive.

I've always wanted to go to build-a-bear, so I went and made all of them a stuffed animal. The girls got bears and Rocco got a pup-pup with a beep-beep shirt. I wasn't sure if he'd care about it, but he's asked to sleep with it twice now.

Phoebe is starting to get better at sitting up. It's really weird that she will probably crawl before she will sit-up perfect.

Rocco's potty training & Phoebe's first tooth!!

Rocco's has peed in the potty a few times over the last month. 2 days ago - he got out of the shower and I was drying him off, he pushed me away and sat on his potty and peed. So, I decided it was time to officially start potty training. I put his training underwear on him this morning and it's been a huge success. He's peed 4 times this morning and went number 2 twice. He told me poo-poo, so we ran to his potty. Wow, I guess he was ready! He was so proud of himself and loved watching me get so excited, so he would pee as often as he could. He did have one accident, but I think that's great! I thought it would be much worse. However, it is only day 1 and we're only halfway through the day.

Phoebe hasn't been sleeping as solid as she normally does for the last week and I think I figured out why! Her tooth on the left below is out! They are growing up way too fast. :(

Madison was laying on me so sweetly, so I grabbed the camera. I typically don't like taking pictures of myself, but I wanted to remember her being so sweet.

On our way to church! He loved his classroom. They have a big play thing (like McDonald's has) and Rocco was so excited. We didn't get to play on it, since I wasn't dressed to chase him up it. So, we'll try it next week. They put him in with the 1 year old's since they don't move forward until August. But, when I picked him up, they said he may want to jump ahead to the young 2 class because he was bigger than the rest of the class, lol. They said he was so sweet to everyone. He even shared his beep-beeps with the other girls. He was also the only boy, lol. I was worried he'd try to lay on other kids since he likes rubbing belly's these days.

I think she may be getting ready to crawl. She's pretty strong and keeps getting up like this. Madison is starting to get up on her knees, but she doesn't get quite this high. Phoebe has been getting up for about a week now and rocks a little on her knees. But, this push-up move is new, lol. She's been doing it all morning. Maybe she's just going to skip crawling and go straight to bear walking.

Here's her superman move. She does this a lot. So, weird. This is actually a move in my level 3 exercise video, lol.

Rocco got the paper towels out and pulled them apart. The girls managed to get over to the mess and take what they wanted. They had fun for about 15 minutes with this.

Phoebe loves this kleenex box. I've had to remove it from the changing table. She screams if I take it away from her. I think this is her favorite toy, lol.

I can't remember why they are so happy here, but they are usually very, very happy babies. It doesn't take much to make them smile!
I found all of Rocco's toys in bed with him one morning. I guess he was bored!?
The usual: Phoebe grabbing Madison. Poor Madison is constantly getting her hair pulled and arm sucked on by Phoebe. She is such a grabby baby.
Rocco has discovered band-aids. He now needs a lot! If they fall off at night, I get woken up by really hard crying. I have to put a new one on. I need this phase to end quickly. I'm tired. If you look closely in every picture of him, you'll find band-aids. :)
Sam's parents visited and the girls loved the constant attention.

Here's Rocco waking up Phoebe. He runs in, sees them sleeping and yells "Mimi night-night (which wakes them up) and rubs there backs, then tries to turn them over and pinches Phoebe's cheeks.

Rocco found my pooh snowglobe and loved hearing the music. He tried to carry it across the room and dropped it. Their ears fell off and tiggers arm broke off. Rocco was so sad. He kept saying "sorry dada" all night. It was so sad. We never even got mad or said anything to him. he was just so sad he broke it. I had to put it in bed with him that night and that was a disaster. He would cry so hard every time the music ended, which was every minute. After a few times, I took it away and that went over well!
I've been sewing a lot lately and Rocco likes to help. He grabbed that fabric from my bag and tried to sew. He even stepped on the pedal. I learned early on to power down every time I step away from the machine, lol.
This was on our walk 2 days ago. I take them all on walks a couple times a day and dada had a break to go with us this day. I usually have Phoebe and Rocco in the stroller and Madison strapped to me. It's not as bad as it sounds. I really love these walks.

I taped this box shut and set it on the table. Rocco found the tape and got the box and was trying to tape it. Such a sweet smile!

Vacation to Panama City

There are a lot of pictures in this post, but I just couldn't cut them down anymore.

If Rocco could have just played with the hose and shower all the time, he would have been so happy. He would stay at this hose for 20 minutes before we had to pull him away.

Puddle jumpers are the best invention ever! Rocco is learning how to swim rather quickly. He can get across the pool by himself now. I guess it helps that we go swimming almost everyday now. That's about all we can do with how hot it is.

Our first family photo that is not horrible. Still not perfect because we can never get everyone looking at the same time. Please excuse my elephant foot. I'm going to figure out how to photoshop in a better foot since mine is stuck this way, lol.

I know this has already been seen, but I wanted to group it with the rest. Phoebe is on the right (she's always sucking her thumb). I placed them on their tummies in the center and this is how I found them 10 minutes later.

May happenings

Rocco is constantly bringing me dada's shirts and making me put them on him. He loves him soooo much. He started wearing our shoes now, too.

We went to the pool on Sunday and I'm so glad that Nina was there to help us. I don't think I could have handled it without Sam and her. Madison liked it for 10 minutes, Phoebe loved it the whole time and Rocco has always loved the water. His new puddle jumpers (life vest) lets him swim by himself, so he's super happy in the water, although he has no fear. He likes to run and jump in without us there.

I don't know how this happened. I put Phoebe in the swing and came back about 5 minutes later. I can't figure out how she fell out directly beneath the swing, lol. Rocco was with me, so he didn't help. I didn't hear crying, so I guess it didn't hurt, I hope. She was so happy just lying beneath it having a good time.

Making cupcakes

Rocco and I made cupcakes. I don't think he's had a cupcake or piece of cake since last fall, so he didn't know what he was about to taste. I let him lick the icing and he actually looked at me and squealed for more. I don't think I've ever seen him that excited about food. We don't really have a lot of junk food, so he calls yogurt drops and granola bars candy, lol. He has had chocolate though and loves it!

As you can see below, he loved it!
When dada gets home from school, Rocco is usually waiting by the door and yells "side" to him. He knows that everyday, dada takes him outside to play for an hour. Nothing can stop those two from their playdate, lol. Not even a lot of rain.

We went to a bbq/pool party after some of Sam's friends finished their exams. I packed a swim bag, but forgot to actually put it in the car. So, Rocco swam in his diaper. We take turns chasing Rocco, so Sam got to feed them while I chased Rocco around the pool. I think I got the better end of the deal!

We usually watch sesame street in bed in the morning. Rocco has to always sit in the middle so he can kiss or squish them whenever he wants.

Madison was next. It went just as bad. They are doing better now, but still don't really like it.
Rocco was so proud of himself for matching the animals. The back end of the cow is under the stove, so that will have to stay there for awhile. Not sure why he put it between the sheep, lol.

Easter Weekend

I keep finding Madison in this position while she is asleep. I don't know how she does it, but I guess she loves the top side of her bed, lol. I guess she'll need a crib sooner than I expected.

We took Rocco to his first Easter egg hunt at the church. He was so cute. He had to sit down at every egg he found to open it. And, he was so sweet to the other kids. He saw a few eggs by another little boy and he picked up the eggs and put them in the other boy's basket. I know he's not fully aware of sharing yet, but I'm so proud of him for that.

Here we are getting ready to leave for the church easter egg hunt. I thought I'd try to get some pics with everyone, since I'm usually the one taking the pictures. It was really hard getting Rocco to stand still, so even though I couldn't get him smiling, I'm just happy he's in the picture. The second picture is Rocco hugging all three of us.

Here are the girls laughing while I say "dada is a jerk". I'm trying to make them love me more, since Rocco is obsessed with his dada. (I'm kidding, of course). I'll post a video of this later.

I was feeding Phoebe and had Madison in her playpen on her tummy. After about 10 minutes, I heard Madison talking on the monitor and went to see what she was so happy about. I found her sideways and on her back laughing. Little did I know that she had a huge poopy diaper with poop all the way up her back. Nice surprise for me! Kitty outfit was almost thrown away, lol.

We have a pond across the street and decided to walk there and feed the geese. There were probably 30 geese in the pond/air. As soon as I threw the first piece of bread, they all start heading our way. I was terrified, lol. I've heard stories about how mean they can be. So, we quickly left after throwing in all the bread.
I love this picture of Rocco. I tore off the first piece of bread for him to throw and when I handed it to him, he ate it! I guess I should have expected that, lol. Like he knew he was supposed to feed the geese. This picture is him putting the bread in his mouth.

I frequently find Rocco on the couch with the girls feeding them when they cry. I put Madison in Rocco's crib with him and he was squealing with joy. He put all of his toys around her, covered her with his blanket and kissed her. I wasn't allowed to take her out for at least ten minutes.

First trip to the pool

We wanted to take the kids to the pool since it's been so hot outside. Rocco glued himself to Sam in the water for a long time. He eventually got a little more confident and started jumping off the side to Sam. Thanks, mom, for the great swimsuits for the girls!

4 month dr visit & Rocco painting for the first time

The girls had their 4 month well visit today and it went great. Madison is 13 lbs and 23.5 in. Everything was either in the 20th or 30th percentile. Phoebe is 12 lbs 7 oz and 23.5 in. She was also in the 20th or 30th percentile for everything. They are almost caught up!

I thought it would be fun for Rocco to learn how to paint. So, after fighting with him to wear the apron, he loved it! We clap a lot in this house, so we began painting by clapping. See the first picture below, lol.

Rocco really likes to taste everything, so he tried the red paint. He had a great time painting and didn't want to stop. I think we're going to have to paint a lot.
I hung his painting in the kitchen and when he saw it, he said "colors". I was shocked because I never taught him that word. I've been teaching him his colors, but not the actual word. He has a video that teaches the word "colors", as well as all of the colors, that he just start watching a week ago and I guess it's working!
He loves brushing his teeth. We sing the indian song that my mom sang to me growing up and then he brushes his teeth at the end.
I had to take about 10 pictures to get this one of all three of them looking. We were headed out on our almost daily walk to look at beep-beeps in the parking lot. The UPS man knows us pretty well from our amazon deliveries, so he lets Rocco play near his truck and honks for him.

Both of the girls are now rolling over! I really thought they would be delayed at doing this because of their early arrival, but they have both surprised me. They will be 4 months old this Friday, or 2.5 months adjusted. Madison has been rolling over for about 2 weeks now and Phoebe just rolled over today! I don't have a video, but I'm working on trying to catch it. I did get a pic of Madison in mid roll. She is rolling toward the pillow, her head is up in the air even though it looks like she is resting on the pillow.

People keep asking me which one is which. Phoebe is darker and has rounder, brown eyes. Madison has a longer head, is much lighter skinned and has bluish eyes (for now). I think they couldn't look any more different, but maybe I'm just used to seeing them.

Sesame street is awesome. It taught Rocco up and down. I thought he was too young for that kind of stuff, but I guess I was wrong. He only does it for a second in this video, but he usually will do it through the whole song.

This video shows Rocco doing his puzzle. If you notice, the square and rectangle are the same color. Well, he got confused and tried to put the square in the rectangle spot. And, when it didn't fit, he looked at it up close and then he threw it away, lol. I was laughing so hard. He just continued on with the puzzle.

Rocco needed a desk since he likes coloring now. He loves sitting in his chair and trying to stand up on the desk, lol.

He is so sweet to the girls. He has never acted jealous or angry towards them, even when they are crying excessively. When they do cry and I'm not right there, he grabs their pacifiers and try's to put it in their mouths. And, yesterday, Phoebe spit up a little and he ran and got a burp cloth to clean her mouth. He is so loving and caring towards them. He is constantly smothering them with kisses and hugs. He's not always super gentle, but at least he means well and loves them so much.

I was feeding Madison while Phoebe slept, but then Phoebe woke up so I put the bottle down and ran to get Phoebe. I noticed that it got quiet, which scared me a little, but when I got back, Rocco was on the couch feeding Madison. So, I put Phoebe down and grabbed the camera. He amazes me sometimes with how smart he is and how sweet he is.
Here are some pictures during our car wash. They have this area set up in our apartment complex right outside our door. We needed something to do to get us out of the house, so we thought this would be fun. You can see how much the girls enjoyed it, lol. Rocco squealed with joy every time he shot Sam with the hose. We had to put money in three times for Rocco so he could play. He was not happy when it was time to quit.

I took the girls to the pediatrician yesterday for a weight check, and they are both doing great! Phoebe (on left) is now 5 pounds, and Madison (on right) is 5 pounds 6 ounces.

Rocco Coloring

I decided to color with Rocco today. Thanks Holley for the great coloring books! He had a great time. He really liked the crayons and wouldn't let me put them away. He had so much fun until he decided to start eating the crayons (see the last picture). So, we had to stop coloring. But it was a lot of fun!

Rocco loved playing with Sofia. She's such a happy little baby.

Rocco liked swinging Hudson. Then he got distracted by the mobile and played with that for awhile.

It was funny watching them all eat together. I often times found Finn and Rocco stealing food from Evangeline's tray.

Rocco can't go anywhere without his monkey book. He was so good on the airplane and spent about 30 minutes reading (pointing at the monkeys and laughing) his favorite book.

I'm on the other end of the teeter-totter. Unfortunately, I'm big enough now that we worked well together. Unlike Tony versus the rest of the family on their teeter-totter. (You need to ask Lisa for a picture of that).

For some reason, Rocco loves to put on dada's clothes. He puts these pants on all the time. And, now, he wraps dada's shirts around himself. Then he plays peek-a-boo with them.

New things Rocco has learned

I thought I'd post some of the fun things that Rocco's been up to lately. He has such a lively personality (nothing like me, lol).

- He plays a screaming game with me. Any time Sam is carrying Rocco and I'm walking behind, Rocco will get super happy and scream as loud as he can and then hide. He did this all the way through walmart and we couldn't get him to stop. Everyone was laughing so hard and Sam was trying to get him to stop while I'm in the back encouraging it, lol. It was 5 minutes of hilarity.

- Sam decided to teach him to call me mimi in a weird, nasaly voice instead of saying mama. So, now, I'm mimi (but say it slow and like a nasaly cartoon character). I can't thank dada enough for this.

- He flirts with every girl he sees. He smiles so big and acts bashful, then reaches up for them to pick him up. Needless to say, we've been having an easy time getting people to do things that we need them do for us. I think Rocco is responsible for Sam transferring so smoothly to Florida. The financial aid / admissions office loves Rocco.

- He plays with dada in the front seat of the car every time we get in. He goes right for the wipers and hits every button, then turns the wheel like crazy. We've had to refill our washer fluid a few times this summer. Then he puts his face in the vent and makes noises in the vent with his hair blowing. No wonder he prefers being with dada over me, lol.

- I strapped him in his rainforest booster seat on the floor, since we are tableless right now. I strapped him in while I went to put food on his tray. I told Sam to watch him just in case. Sam hears a noise and turns to find Rocco crawling across the room with the booster attached up in the air. It was the funniest thing I've ever seen. And Rocco could have cared less that he had a big plastic chair on his back.

-Rocco is attached to Sam like you wouldn't believe. He cries hard when he leaves the room, walks by him without picking him up, walks too far away from him when we are out, etc. I am basically chopped liver at this point. I guess it's for the best that he won't let me carry him right now, since I probably shouldn't be anyway. But, I wanted to be the favorite. =(

- Sad, but cute story. We were eating at a restaurant and Rocco was in his high chair. We were at the sushi bar, so the chef was right in front of us, and Rocco loved sitting there to see the man in the silly hat. We were ready to leave and Sam got up first. Sam decided to tease Rocco and pretend to leave him there, even though I was sitting right next to him the whole time. He waved and said bye bye to Rocco and started to walk away. Rocco thought Sam was saying bye to the chef, so Rocco turned to the chef from his highchair and waved bye. Rocco then turned to see Sam walking away and burst into tears. It was so sad, but so cute that Rocco thought he was leaving with dada and waved to the chef. Then Sam basically felt horrible all night and for the next few days.

- Rocco eats everything. I think we are going to have problems keeping food in the house. His favorite food is nana's zucchini bread. He'd eat the whole loaf if I let him. He eats the normal kid food, but he's been eating steak, bbq pork, tuna salad, all vegetables except green beans, all fruits, and basically everything else that we eat. He eats so much, and is only in the 4oth percentile in weight, so he must have crazy energy and high metabolism.

- Rocco has learned how to make farting noises on skin. He makes the noises on his arm and our faces. And, he gives great kisses. Mostly to me though, so I love that! After I ask for a kiss and he gives it to me, he claps for himself, lol.

Here's Rocco after he took Sam's tootsie pop. He would lick it for awhile and then share with sam for a second and then take it back. I took a video, but I can't seem to ever get them uploaded here.

I was right behind him making dinner and this is how I found him after a few minutes. Since that discovery, he has emptied every box of kleenex, lol.

They think they are 2 girls, but I wouldn't bank on it. I thought I saw 1 girl, but the other was so difficult to see b/c it was bouncing around like crazy. I guess I'll find out for sure at my next sonogram in about 1 month. they are both measuring perfect and seem to be healthy.

Here's a few pictures from June. First we went to Grandma's where he found out that he loved spaghetti more than anything. He tried to eat it on his own first, but after about 20 seconds, the spaghetti was on the floor, fridge and cabinets. So, grandma fed him. Can you believe he ate that entire plate full of spaghetti? He ate a 4" turkey sub the other day, too. He has a bit of a food obession right now, lol.

Next, we went to Nashville for his birthday party. But, Lisa already posted those pics so I'm skipping that. But, on his actual birthday, we took him to mcdonalds for ice cream. He loves, loves ice cream.

Here, I tried to let him feed himself his macaroni. After a while of it slipping out of his fingers, he gave up and ate from the bowl like a dog, lol.

One of his favorite toys that he got for his birthday is his mcdonald's play toy set. The salad is probably his favorite thing. He carries it around and laughs at it (see below), lol. He also loves his little people boat. He carries the people around in his mouth all day.

And, instead of sitting on the couch, he prefers to use it to climb up to the big couch. He's such a boy. Also, he has decided that he loves everything electronic. He picks up the tivo and drops it. He is not afraid of the word no or doesnt' get time out yet, so I can't figure out how to make this stop.

And forget changing his diaper or dressing him. I just don't have the energy to make that happen. He turns around really quick on the changing table after I take his diaper off and makes a run for it. He tries to leap off, lol. Even with me holding his legs in the air and firmly saying no, he turns around on his tummy and uses his arms to walk away while laughing at me. I'm in so much trouble. So, he gets dressed in stages. Even with how hard and tiring he can be, it is so much fun.

Rocco's insane amount of energy

All of a sudden, Rocco has increased his energy level to an insane level. He talks non-stop, which is cute. He crawls turbo speed everywhere and gets into everything. He picks up a toy, bangs it, throws it down and then moves on to the next toy. His attention span is about 1 second.

He gets so excited sometimes that he flaps his arms and screams, then dances (bouncing up and down & bobbing his head). I look at him sometimes and it seems like he can't get all of his energy out, so I've started chasing him and trying to wear him out. He plays chase so cute. He crawls away really fast while laughing, then turns around and sits. Then reaches out to me to tease me like he's going to hug me, then he crawls away. I'll post videos of his craziness soon. I'm too tired by the time he goes to bed that I just want to sleep. But, even after all this going on all day, I miss him while he sleeps, lol.

We've been having a rough day - maybe because he has 4 teeth coming in at once on top. He cried pretty hard for about 20 minutes after sam left for the library today. He really doesn't like it when Sam leaves. But, for just a few minutes today, he laughed so hard at me sticking my tongue out at him. And then, I played the video for him and he laughed just as hard at himself.

Rocco crawled for real yesterday. He's been scooting around on his stomach all over the place for about a month now. I don't think I put him down long enough for him to figure it out. So, I put him down yesterday morning and he immediately got up and crawled forward 2 steps. I picked him up to keep him for crawling b/c I didn't want Sam to miss that milestone. We waited for him to wake up and I video taped him crawling across the room for the first time! this isn't the actual video, this one is from today. I have to figure out how to get video's off my video camera. So, until then, we'll go with this one. :)

Shopping with Rocco

I just thought this was really cute and it made me really proud of him. (Even if he doesn't really know what he's doing, but I'm going to believe that he does. :)

Rocco is very good about finding his pacifier and putting it in his mouth. It's so great because when he wakes up at night, he looks around to find it and puts it back in his mouth and falls asleep. Anyways, one morning, I brought him in to our bed and he was sitting up and took it out of his mouth and tried to put it in Sam's mouth. And, about 2 minutes later, he did it again. He thought he was being so funny. I thought it was pretty adorable. Sorry I don't have a video to go with it. :)

Trip to Nashville

Rocco and I are in Nashville for a few days visiting Lisa and having a "meet the baby" party for Bekah. So, almost my entire family will be here. Rocco is having a great time. He loves to be pushed around in Bear's red car. He's been squealing because he's so happy to be here. Bear is being so sweet to him. He plays peek-a-boo with him and Brooklyn sings to him. And I think Rocco loves every second of it. He practically hyperventilates when he sees them.

Rocco's first trip to the beach

We thought we'd go to Ft. Lauderdale for spring break since we really needed a break from Ohio. We only went for 2.5 days, so we were really excited about spending the whole time on the beach. I bought Rocco sand toys and got him a really cute hat and uv shirt. I had swim shorts from Bekah that were super cute. We were all ready to go. Rocco had his own seat on the plane and loved it!

Here's Rocco in his super cute swim clothes. We walked down to the beach and as soon as we stepped on the beach, the wind was so strong that the sand was hitting us in the face and Rocco was scared. So, we turned around and left. We decided to walk down the boardwalk instead. We walked for about 1.5 hours, just to get there as it was several miles away. Then it started to rain, lol. So, we sat down and had a piece of pizza and then walked the several miles home. We tried to sit by the hotel pool, but the wind was so strong that we had to go in.

Here we are back at the hotel. At least it was warm and pretty! We decided that we'd spend the next day at the beach.

The next day was cold and even more windy than the day before. =( So... no time spent at the beach this trip. We went walking again instead. We walked a few miles to a burger place. At the end of the day, I decided that we couldn't leave the beach having never even stepped on the beach. So, we bundled up and went down to the water and took a few pictures.

That was our trip! We left at 7 a.m. the next day, which was warm and not windy by the way. Just our luck. We'll just have to go again this summer. =) At least we got to get out of cold and snowy Ohio.

It looks like he can sit up, but he falls over after a minute or so. I keep waiting for this milestone to happen everyday so that I don't have to constantly hold him.

We decided on Sunday around 3 p.m. to head to the Detroit Auto Show. I didn't realize how close we live to Detroit. It only took 1 hr and 45 min to get there. Bumblebee was there! That picture is really for Josh. :)
